BETACAM SP (IEC 60B (Sec) 93)
The "superior performance" version of Betacam. The component philosophy and metal particle tape is used for SP with higher carrier frequencies for improved signal-to-noise and multi-generation performance. Recorders distinguish standard Betacam tapes and switch to an appropriate mode. Audio is catered for by two longitudinal analogue channels and two FM channels. Conventional size Bete cassettes allow times up to 30 minutes. A larger size cassette provides 90 minutes.
